I have been making this lasagna for many years. The kids never liked onions, garlic, chunky sauce, you get the idea. So, I have always catered to what they like and would eat. This is very simple and basic! Now that they are older I have added spinach and onions! But for now, this is my basic recipe!
Ingredients
Marinara– in my recipes or your favorite kind
1 box lasagna noodles
Filling
1 container of ricotta cheese
1 small onion chopped
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. basil
3 cloves garlic chopped
3 cups fresh spinach
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
Saute onion and garlic in 3 Tbs. olive oil for 5 minutes, add roughly chopped spinach and saute for 3 minutes. Place ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, basil and garlic salt in a bowl and mix, add ricotta spinach mixture and mix well.
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese- for putting in between layers
Directions
Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, drain noodles.
In a large oven proof baking pan, pour some sauce to cover bottom of dish
Layer noodles next to each other.
place cheese on top of noodles
Sprinkle with grated cheese and top with sauce.
Layer like this until noodles are gone. Top with sauce.
Cover baking dish well and put in oven. Bake for an hour on 350 degrees.
Remove from oven and let set for a few minutes before serving.
